Meet Gayle

Lending strategy shaped by experience — not just a rate.

I’m Gayle Campbell, founder of LoanEdge and a finance and mortgage broker with more than 15 years’ experience in lending.

My approach to finance has always been broader than simply finding a loan. Before broking, I worked in accounting and developed a strong understanding of financial reporting, business structures, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and taxation concepts. I’ve also owned and run businesses, employed staff, invested in property, renovated, built, developed and worked with commercial property.

That experience shapes the way I look at lending today. I want to understand where you are now, what you are trying to achieve next, and how today’s lending decision could affect your options later.

That is what Structure changes everything means to me.

Why I became a finance broker

Finance broking was a natural extension of property, business and leverage.

I’ve always been interested in building wealth through property, business and intelligent use of leverage.

Used carefully, borrowing can give people and businesses the ability to move faster — whether that means buying a first home, acquiring another investment, purchasing business equipment, expanding a company or buying commercial property.

I experienced that personally long before LoanEdge existed. Finance broking became a natural extension of that interest. I wanted to understand lending deeply, structure it properly and help other people use finance more strategically.

The loan itself is only one part of the decision. The structure around it can be just as important.

I look beyond the transaction

A lower rate can matter. It is not the only thing I consider.

Before recommending a lending strategy, I want to understand the bigger picture and whether borrowing is actually the right move.

Current positionYour financial position, income and entity structure, borrowing capacity and cash flow.
FlexibilityLender policy, offsets, available cash, repayment structure and potential refinancing needs.
Future plansProperty or business plans, timing and, where relevant, the eventual exit strategy.

Sometimes the right decision is to refinance. Sometimes it is to stay exactly where you are. And sometimes it is to not borrow more at all.

I have advised clients not to proceed with transactions when I did not believe the outcome was in their interests. My own remuneration should never be the reason a client makes a financial decision.

I would rather build a relationship that lasts for years.

Complex does not have to mean complicated

My accounting background is especially useful when the lending story is not straightforward.

The aim is always the same: make the lending understandable and find a structure that fits the bigger picture.

Self-employed incomeCompanies, business income and more complex financials.
Companies and trustsUnderstanding how different lenders interpret financial structures and income.
Property investorsFrom a first investment property through to established portfolios.
SMSF and commercial propertyScenarios where structure, documentation and lender policy require more careful consideration.
Business and asset financeVehicles, equipment, commercial assets and finance to support business growth.
First-home buyers and homeownersYou do not need a complicated situation to benefit from good advice. Many clients simply want someone experienced to explain their options properly.

Property is not theoretical for me

I bring a practical property lens to the lending conversation.

I am also a property investor myself. Over the years I have personally been involved in buying property, investment property, renovations, new construction, property projects and resales, and commercial property.

That experience gives me a very practical perspective when speaking with clients about property finance.

I understand that a property decision is not just a number on a servicing calculator. There are holding costs, construction decisions, cash-flow pressures, timing issues and future opportunities to think about.

What it is like to work with me

Calm, approachable and thorough guidance.

Clients often tell me that they appreciate being able to talk things through properly.

I don’t expect you to understand lender policy or know which structure is appropriate before you call. That’s my job.

I will explain the different ways we can approach something, the advantages and disadvantages of each option, and why I am recommending a particular pathway.

Some situations are straightforward. Others require quite a lot of lateral thinking. Either way, I want you to understand what we are doing rather than simply being told which lender to use.

And while LoanEdge has a team supporting the administration and progression of client files, clients continue to have access to me throughout the lending relationship.

My approach

Independent thinking, commercial judgement and clear explanations.

Good broking starts with listening and stays focused on the client’s practical outcome.

Independent thinkingI don’t start with a favourite bank. I start with the client.
Commercial judgementI consider the practical financial outcome, not simply whether a lender will approve the application.
Clear explanationsLending can become unnecessarily complicated. My role is to make it understandable.
Long-term thinkingToday’s loan can affect tomorrow’s borrowing capacity, investment plans and flexibility.
HonestyIf I don’t believe a transaction is right for you, I will tell you.
RelationshipsI want LoanEdge clients to come back whenever their property, business or financial position changes — not just for one transaction.

A little beyond finance

Business, investing, coast life and travel.

I genuinely enjoy business and investing, so quite a lot of what I do professionally overlaps with things I find interesting personally.

Outside work, I enjoy living on the Australian coast, staying active and travelling — travel in particular is one of my favourite things to do.

I am naturally more comfortable in a one-to-one conversation than trying to be the loudest person in a room, which is probably one reason my client relationships tend to be very personal.

For me, good broking starts with listening.

Ready to talk through your options?

You don’t need to know exactly what loan you need before getting in touch.

Tell me what you’re trying to achieve and we can work through the options together.
